Questions, answered
Frequently asked questions
- What is BTA Learning?
- BTA Learning is an Australian online tutoring and learning app for students in Years 1 to 12, mapped to the NSW curriculum. It combines curriculum-aligned lessons, 24 learning games, exam prep and a live AI tutor called Suni, with progress tracking and safety controls for parents. It is built by the tutors at Better Tuition Academy.
- Who is Suni?
- Suni is BTA Learning's AI tutor and study buddy: a honey-amber bee with an Australian voice. She works from the exact lesson your child is on, talks through problems out loud, works alongside them on a shared whiteboard, document, spreadsheet or slide deck, and checks the maths she can verify before marking it.
- How is BTA Learning different from using ChatGPT for homework?
- Unlike a general chatbot, BTA Learning's tutor Suni works only from your child's exact lesson mapped to the NSW curriculum, and checks the maths it can verify against a separate checker before marking, rather than confidently stating answers it cannot verify. It also refuses to write essays or answers for your child, leaving comments and scaffolds instead.
- Will the AI tutor just do my child's homework for them?
- No. Suni guides your child by talking through the steps and leaving comments and scaffolds. She does not write the answer or the essay for them.
- How does BTA Learning keep its maths marking accurate?
- Before Suni tells a student a maths step is right or wrong, the algebra, arithmetic and equation-solving steps are checked against a separate checker, not the language model itself. When it cannot verify a step, it says so honestly rather than guessing.
- Is BTA Learning's AI tutor safe for children?
- Yes. Parents control what their child can access, can review their child's AI chats and friends, and content safeguards flag concerns. BTA Learning carries no advertising and does not sell data, and Suni is designed to guide rather than do a child's work.
- How much does BTA Learning cost?
- There is a free plan to get started. Plus is $25 per month and Pro is $49 per month, in Australian dollars, with $1 a month off if you pay by bank direct debit. Pricing is per child with optional add-ons, and every plan includes the neurodiversity hub.
- Is BTA Learning good for HSC preparation?
- Yes. BTA Learning covers HSC preparation with curriculum-aligned lessons, full mock exams and diagnostics, and photo-to-calendar study plans, all mapped to the NSW curriculum and built by the tutors at Better Tuition Academy.

- What devices does BTA Learning work on?
- BTA Learning runs in any web browser on a computer, tablet or phone, and installs to your home screen like an app. There is nothing to download from an app store.
- Does BTA Learning support neurodiverse learners?
- Yes. Every plan includes a neurodiversity hub: practical, non-pathologising guides for ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism and more, written for both parents and tutors.
- Is my child's data safe?
- BTA Learning carries no advertising and does not sell data. Parents get controls over what their child can access, can review their child's AI chats and friends, and content safeguards flag concerns.
